Kenda Athletes Shine at Crankworx Whistler with Gold and Silver Medal

Kenda-supported athletes delivered an outstanding week at Crankworx Whistler, collecting multiple podium finishes across some of the festival's most competitive disciplines. From muddy downhill conditions to high-speed dual slalom battles and world-class slopestyle competition, Team Kenda proved once again that performance and consistency matter when the stakes are highest.

Tegan Cruz Captures Dual Slalom Gold and Two Silver Medals

Tegan Cruz was one of the standout performers of the week, earning three podium finishes highlighted by his first-ever elite Crankworx Whistler gold medal in Dual Slalom.

Dual Slalom – Gold Medal

After battling through a stacked field of competitors, Cruz advanced to the finals where he faced current dual slalom standout Ryan Gilchrist. Riding with confidence and determination, Cruz delivered a flawless final run to claim the gold medal by 0.835 seconds.

"Dual Slalom gold medal, what a day. Proud of what we achieved. We fought through every ladder until the finals paired me against the current king. I knew I had what it takes to win. Between the challenging conditions and technical track, I gave it all I had and we did it."

For his winning setup, Cruz relied on Kenda's proven Pinner Downhill tires front and rear.

"Pinner Downhill front and rear is my go-to setup for all slalom racing with 24 psi in the front and 30 psi in the rear. The tires performed perfectly with no issues at all."

OG Canadian Open Downhill – Silver Medal

Cruz continued his momentum in the prestigious OG Canadian Open Downhill, posting a time of 2:51.763 to secure second place behind downhill veteran Troy Brosnan.

Air DH – Silver Medal

Rain moved into Whistler on race morning, transforming the Air DH course into a muddy and unpredictable challenge. Cruz adapted quickly to the changing conditions and earned another silver medal finish.

"It was a crazy race day with rain moving in during the morning. We ended up having quite the muddy Air DH day."

For the demanding conditions, Cruz again trusted his Pinner Downhill setup.

"My tire setup was Pinner Downhill front and rear with 25 psi in the front and 31 psi in the rear."

Jordy Scott Adds Another Crankworx Victory

Jordy Scott continued her impressive Crankworx campaign by securing a victory in Pump Track competition while also earning a silver medal in Dual Slalom at Whistler.

Scott's tire setup featured a Kenda Booster up front and Kenda 360 in the rear.

"I was running the 26x2.25 Booster in the front and 26x2.25 360 in the rear with 55 psi in both. The track was pretty loose after the kids rode it all morning and I needed a little extra confidence, so I threw the Booster on the front at the last minute and it gave me what I needed to rip the dirt corners and take the win."

In addition to her Crankworx results, Scott recently captured first place in Pump Track at SilverStar and finished fourth in Downhill competition.

Shealen Reno Earns Slopestyle Silver

Kenda athlete Shealen Reno added another podium result to the team's impressive week, earning a silver medal in the Elite Women's Rhapsody Slopestyle event.

Competing on a massive and heavily modified course, Reno delivered two highly consistent and technical runs. Her silver medal run scored 84.00 points and featured a pendulum trick, tuck no-hander, and smooth execution throughout the course.

The result further strengthens Reno's position at the top of the Women's Pro Slopestyle Super League standings heading into the final event of the season.

Championship Battles Continue

As the Crankworx season heads toward its finale, the championship battles remain incredibly close. Shealen Reno currently leads the Women's Pro Slopestyle Super League standings, while both Tegan Cruz and Jordy Scott sit in second place in the King and Queen of Crankworx overall standings.

With one event remaining, all three athletes are in contention for season-long honors.
