Excellent All Round Tire

These tires are billed as gravel tires, but they may be about the best all-round tires I've ridden in a long time. I have been running these on a steel framed gravel bike that doubles as a long distance commuter.

On pea gravel the grip on these is excellent, and they roll fast. I think on rougher stuff you can tell you don't have aggressive tread, but they are still rolling fast. In wet weather they are surprisingly good on pea gravel, but mud is mud and that's where these break down a bit.

On pavement I was genuinely impressed by these tires. My commute to work is 17 miles and these things are excellent on pavement. The rolling resistance is excellent, and these really seem like a 40mm road tire. The other thing that stands out on pavement is just how supple these tires are. The ride quality is amazing for a 40mm tire. Combined with that steel framed gravel bike, you have a silky smooth ride that still feels responsive. There's no sense of squish in turns. The sidewalls have the right balance for feeling like you are on a road bike tire, yet somehow supple enough to give you an improved ride quality.

Honestly you can't go wrong with these tires. They perform very well on or off road, but the on road performance is so good I'd have no hesitation putting them on a road specific bike.

Great tire for Foco Grand Fondo and suggested by Alexey Vermuelen. What a smooth and responsive tire that I won the para-category with!!

A bit undersized

I agree with a previous reviewer that the 4titude tires are slightly undersized so be sure to size up when ordering. Having taken his advice I went with the 42's which measured out at 41mm with max tire pressure of 65psi on 25mm internal rim. At my normal riding pressure of 45psi the 42's measure 40mm on the 25mm wheel. Otherwise, the tires are ideal for mixed pavement or hardpack gravel riding.

pumped

4titude is a great commuting/training tire, very robust without a big weight penalty. shows little wear after approx 600 miles. kenda gravel tires have mounted up super well and held air even without sealant. very happy considering the price point is a good bit less than comparable big name options.
