Versatile casing with great all-round protection. 50% lighter than traditional trail puncture breakers. Tubeless ready. Intended use: All-around Cx and gravel riding
Tires don’t really hold airs but still good tires for the money. Good for a paved road but not recommended as gravel options.
Tried these over the winter for NorCal riding. Commuting, wet, grimy, rough back rods. Grip and suppleness are excellent in these conditions. Did a bit of dry dirt. Seems to be happy on predictable dirt. The center tread wears a bit quicker than other big brands I’ve tried but I’ve been able to snag them at good prices. Also, zero punctures through the fall/winter with maximum debris. I spotted a few small slashes about 4-5mm in length along the tread but no punctures or leaks. They mount easily with a compressor and hold air well. Pleased as punch.
These tires are billed as gravel tires, but they may be about the best all-round tires I've ridden in a long time. I have been running these on a steel framed gravel bike that doubles as a long distance commuter.
On pea gravel the grip on these is excellent, and they roll fast. I think on rougher stuff you can tell you don't have aggressive tread, but they are still rolling fast. In wet weather they are surprisingly good on pea gravel, but mud is mud and that's where these break down a bit.
On pavement I was genuinely impressed by these tires. My commute to work is 17 miles and these things are excellent on pavement. The rolling resistance is excellent, and these really seem like a 40mm road tire. The other thing that stands out on pavement is just how supple these tires are. The ride quality is amazing for a 40mm tire. Combined with that steel framed gravel bike, you have a silky smooth ride that still feels responsive. There's no sense of squish in turns. The sidewalls have the right balance for feeling like you are on a road bike tire, yet somehow supple enough to give you an improved ride quality.
Honestly you can't go wrong with these tires. They perform very well on or off road, but the on road performance is so good I'd have no hesitation putting them on a road specific bike.
100 miles in and I’m pleased with my tires. A premium quality tire at a good value.Worked well on road and compact gravel
so far i've only run this on tarmac. even at 45psi it feels pretty good. so far no punctures
