Description Technical Specs

An all-condition enduro and gravity tire. Developed with the Polygon-UR team, the Hellkat is truly a World Cup caliber tire. An optimized tread design lets you rip across a wide range of conditions, never letting you down through sharp turns or aggressive braking. Don’t be just fast - be fast as hell!
  • Advanced Gravity Casing (AGC) - KVS and Iron Cloak help prevent cuts and punctures, and a 20mm apex reduces the chance of pinch flats or burping.
  • RSR evolution - New RSR dual layer compound for better control and long tread life.
  • Versatile - Tread design is optimized for a wide range of conditions balancing traction, handling and rolling speed.
  • Tubeless ready – Saves weight and provides a better rolling performance and more controlled handling. Riding tubeless also reduces the chance of flats.

AGC (Advanced gravity casing)
The Advanced Gravity Casing (AGC) is Kenda‘s latest innovation for gravity orientated riders. A strip of Kenda Vector Shield, a lightweight material of woven aramid, is built in under the tread area and along the sidewalls to protect from punctures and cuts. It offers nearly three times more cut resistance than standard protective materials. A 20mm apex along the bead prevents pinch flats and burping. Our lightest and strongest gravity casing up to date.

AEC (ADVANCED ENDURO CASING)
The new AEC casing fills the gap between the burly Advanced Gravity Casing (AGC) and the weight-optimized Advanced Trail Casing (ATC). Using the same 3-piece aramid inserts as the AGC casing, AEC omits the apex, which saves weight, but guarantees the same high level of puncture and cut resistance.

ATC (ADVANCED TRAIL CASING)
Optimized for trail riding, the Advanced Trail Casing (ATC) uses a layer of SCT on the sidewalls and a K-Armor belt under the tread area. K-Armor allows for a tighter weave and the use of less rubber, resulting in a lighter tire and a casing that is supple enough to allow the knobs to flex and form under load, yet still protects from pinch flats or casing tears.

EMC (E-MOUNTAIN CASING)
POWERFUL and STRONG, the E-Mountain Casing (EMC) is the first tire casing on the market specially designed to meet the requirements of e-mountain bikes. Thanks to reinforced sheets of woven fabric across the sidewalls and additional layer of puncture protection under the tread, every tire built with the EMC casing is more durable and provides more control and grip than any other standard MTB tire. All tires built using the EMC casing are also certified to the European ECE-R75 regulatory standard and approved for usage on e-bikes with motor assisted speeds up to 50km/h.

RSR DUAL LAYER (RSR)

Kenda developed a this compound for a new generation of gravity tires - an evolution of the existing Race Stick-E Rubber (RSR) compound. Building on the impressive original, the new RSR compound is a dual layer tread rubber, with the soft RSR compound on top and the stiff SRC on bottom. This new dual layer compound offers better performance because the stiff bottom SRC layer serves as the hard foundation for the softer RSR layer to push against. The result is a compound that provides better control and lasts longer than previous versions.

EN-DTC (EN-DTC)

Designed around the rigors of enduro racing. Featuring a lower rolling resistance value than previous dual tread compounds, tires with EN-DTC show less wear than other similar tires. With shore A values lower than the original DTC, the EN-DTC provides a more responsive ride, letting the knobs do the work of control and braking on the ground.

3 of 5 Grips Well but Showing Wear After Just One Ride November 15, 2019

Tried out the Hellkat 2.4 AEC front and rear.  Our trail conditions have been getting dry and loose again in So Cal and the Hellkats grip just as well as some other tire brands I've tried.  The drawback to these soft compounds is that the tire is breaking down already after just one ride.  The braking edge of the knobs on the rear tire is already breaking  apart and the braking edge on the front is forming little tares already.  I don't expect this tire will last very long before I'm searching again for a tire that suits my needs.  Grip is impressive though.  I'd say on par with other DH type treads from Schwalbe and Maxxis

5 of 5 Grip for DAYS!!! 27.5x2.6 ATC November 15, 2019

I have been using the Hellkat Pro as a front tire on my Enduro and All Mountain bikes. I have been more confident using this tire than any other I've used in the past... and that's a lot of other tires. It does not feel slow, and I don't feel the need to brake nearly as often. It just grips through every turn, and I cannot wait to get on my bike to use it again. Keep up the good work KENDA! I have it matched with the Nevegal 2 on the rear.

5 of 5 27.5x2.6 AEC front and 27.5x2.4 AEC rear August 2, 2019

Currently have this combo on my Pivot Mach 6.  This combo is truly amazing in the loam/wet conditions.  Extremely predictable traction.  Absorbs impacts well.  Very difficult to get to slide out, even when the conditions transition to our more typical dry Arizona DG.  Loving this tire combo!

5 of 5 New Favorite Enduro Tire! May 20, 2019
Reviewer: Joseph Beckstead from Aurora, UT United States
Killer tire for agressive trail and all mountain riding, as well as Enduro racing! I'm running them front and back, and both the grip and low rolling resistance are great! Have thrashed them through some nasty rocks too and so far the lugs and sidewalls are handling it without any issues. Weight it also good. Definitely lighter than the Maxxis Minions I was running
